and Covid-19

During this time of increased strain due to Coronavirus (also known as COVID-19), you may be feeling worried and have many questions. Remember that staying healthy includes both your physical and mental wellbeing.

 

There are a lot of things you can do at this time to keep yourself physically healthy and support your mental health as well. Social isolation or social distancing can create unique circumstances that many of us have not found ourselves in before.

  • Practice self-care – meditate, listen to music, look at images that bring you joy, and/or exercise as you are able by taking a walk outdoors or even walking around your home

  • Rely on your family, friends, and co-workers for support. Talk about your experiences and feelings if you find it helpful. Ask for help if you need it.

  • Take breaks from news or social media if you begin to feel overwhelmed.

  • Use the phone, text messaging, email, social media, or FaceTime/Skype to connect with others while you cannot be with them.

  • Create a positive environment around yourself as you are able. Open the shades and let natural light in, add positive images, plants, or other elements that relax you to the spaces you are spending the most time.
